Every Sunday, the small town of Bac Ha hosts one of the most colourful ethnic markets in northern Vietnam. People from the surrounding hill tribes come down to trade, and the result is a riot of colour, noise and tradition unlike anything near Sapa.
This full-day ride takes you northeast out of Sapa, across rolling hills and through villages, to arrive at the market in time to wander the stalls, try local street food and watch the trading unfold before riding home.
